How Paper is Recycled
Collection
Used paper is collected from homes, offices and recycling bins and transported to a recycling facility.
Sorting
The paper is sorted by type — newspaper, cardboard and white office paper — to ensure quality in the final product.
Pulping
Sorted paper is placed in large vats and mixed with water and chemicals to create a wet pulp slurry.
Cleaning
Ink, staples, plastic and other contaminants are removed from the pulp through filtration and flotation processes.
Screening
The pulp passes through fine screens to remove any remaining impurities and ensure a uniform texture.
Pressing & Drying
The clean pulp is spread onto a wire mesh, pressed into flat sheets and dried using heated rollers.
Rolling
The finished paper is wound onto large reels, ready to be cut and distributed to manufacturers.
